This Privacy Policy explains how Air Conditioning Rebate (“we”, “us” or “our”), the operator of airconditioningrebate.com.au (the “site”), collects, uses, stores and discloses your personal information. Air Conditioning Rebate is an independent eligibility-check and referral service — we are not a government agency. By using the site or submitting an enquiry, you agree to your information being handled as described here.

The information we collect

Information you give us. When you use a form, calculator or enquiry on the site, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, postcode or address, property type, and details about your current or proposed heating and cooling system — including information you enter or any photo you upload to work out a rebate or running cost.

Information we collect automatically. Like most websites, we collect some technical information when you visit — such as your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you view and how you arrived — using cookies and analytics tools (see Cookies and analytics below).

You don't have to give us your personal information, but if you don't, we may not be able to check your eligibility or arrange a quote.

How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

• check your eligibility for government rebates and energy-saving incentives;
• prepare estimates and arrange quotes for a new or replacement system;
• connect you with accredited installers or energy providers who can carry out the work;
• respond to your enquiries and follow up with you by email, phone or SMS;
• send you information and offers about rebates and related services (you can opt out at any time);
• operate, improve and secure the site; and
• meet our legal, regulatory and scheme obligations.

Who we share it with

To provide the service, we may share your enquiry and details with:

• Accredited installers and energy providers — so they can contact you, prepare a quote and, if you proceed, carry out the installation under the relevant scheme (NSW ESS, Victorian VEU or SA REPS);
• Service providers who help us run the site and our enquiries — such as our online form provider and analytics provider — who may use the information only to provide their service to us; and
• Others where required or authorised by law.

We do not sell your personal information to unrelated third parties for their own marketing.

Marketing communications

We may contact you about rebates, quotes and related offers by email, phone or SMS. You can opt out at any time — use the unsubscribe link in any email, reply asking us to stop, or email privacy@airconditioningrebate.com.au. We'll action your request promptly.
